Which Charcuterie Board Are You? Take the 8-Question Quiz

Quick Answer: Answer the eight questions below and keep track of your letters. Mostly A is the Classic, mostly B the Luxe, mostly C the Budget Hero, mostly D the Globetrotter, mostly E the Sweet Tooth and mostly F the Firestarter. Each result tells you what to put on your board and what to pour with it.

Grab a pen or keep count on your fingers. Pick the answer that sounds most like you, not the one you think is right. Then share your result and make your friends take it too.

Your results

Mostly A: The Classic

You are the friend everyone relies on, and your board is the one everyone reaches for. Aged cheddar, brie, Manchego, Genoa salami, prosciutto, grapes, fig jam, crackers and almonds. Pour a Pinot Noir. Start with what goes on a charcuterie board.

Mostly B: The Luxe

You like the good stuff and you know it. Triple-crème, Parmigiano-Reggiano, a washed-rind cheese like Taleggio, prosciutto di Parma, honeycomb, Marcona almonds and something sparkling. Refill instead of piling it high.

Mostly C: The Budget Hero

You make a great board from a normal grocery run. A block of sharp cheddar, a wedge of brie, one salami, seasonal fruit, a sleeve of crackers and a jar of pickles. It looks generous and costs little. Try the $20 Board Challenge.

Mostly D: The Globetrotter

Your board has a passport. Mix Spanish Manchego and chorizo, Greek feta and olives, Japanese rice crackers and a Middle Eastern dip. Pour a dry sherry or a crisp lager. See the full Pairings Hub for ideas.

Mostly E: The Sweet Tooth

You come for the cheese and stay for the dessert. Brie, mascarpone, aged Gouda, dark chocolate, strawberries, honey, shortbread and candied pecans. Pour a tawny port or a dessert wine.

Mostly F: The Firestarter

You want heat. Hot soppressata, spicy chorizo, pepper jack, hot honey, pickled jalapeños and cooling fresh mozzarella to calm things down. The milk fat in the mozzarella softens the burn. Pour a cold lager.

Six charcuterie board personalities: the Classic, the Luxe, the Budget Hero, the Globetrotter, the Sweet Tooth and the Firestarter

Tied between two?

Build half of each. A Classic board with a Firestarter corner, or a Luxe board with a Sweet Tooth dessert corner, is often better than either one alone.

Build your result

For any of these, plan meat and cheese each at 2 oz per guest before a meal, 3 oz when the board is the party food and 4 oz when it is dinner. The Party Planner gives you a shopping list for any guest count, and the Board Library has full plans you can copy.

Share your result and tag the friend who got the opposite one.
